The Razer Phone is almost a year old now and it looks like a new model will land soon, as Razer’s Global vice-president Chen Xiaoping has said as much. More specifically, he spoke at ChinaJoy 2018 (a digital entertainment exhibition), revealing that the Razer Phone 2 could launch in China by the end of 2018, according to MyDrivers . Windows 10 tablets have seen an increase in sales, according to research firm Strategy Analytics. Microsoft’s own tablets, including the Surface Pro and the 2-in-1 Surface Book 2 , performed better than expected, and Windows 10 tablet sales grew 1% compared to the last quarter. That might not seem like a huge amount, but compared to most of the other tablet market, which is having a tough old time at the moment and fell by 6% earlier this year, any growth should be considered a good thing. It looks like Microsoft’s devices are helping drive the growth for Windows tablets, with Microsoft’s devices being embraced by students and enterprise customers. Following the release of the Surface Go (in the US), the inevitable teardown has been conducted by the folks at iFixit, with interesting results, including the revelation that Microsoft used a relatively small battery – and the tablet (unsurprisingly) recorded a very low repairability score. So let’s start with that battery first, and the teardown found that Microsoft has split the tablet’s power pack into two separate battery cells, which at first glance look like they can be disconnected and easily removed from the innards of the device. Except for the fact that “two giant pads of adhesive” have also been applied to hold the battery cells in place, meaning that it’s actually a heck of a struggle to get them out. As the iFixit folks observe, the battery is a small affair with a pretty lean capacity of 26.12Wh. One of Apple's key hardware suppliers for the iPhone has revealed it was hit by a crippling virus that affected much of its production line. TSMC, which manufacturers chips for the iPhone and many top-end mobile devices, said that its factories, including the systems used to build its products, were taken down by a virus on Friday evening. The Taiwan-based company said that 80 per cent of the fabrication tools affected had now been restored, with a complete recovery expected today, but warned that shipments could be delayed due to the attack.
